From 9–11 December 2025, Oudomxay and Phongsaly provinces officially held a three-day training workshop entitled “Nutrition Data Analysis and Advocacy Action Plan” under the National Information Platform for Nutrition (NIPN) for relevant sectoral departments. The training took place at the Department of Education and Sports in Oudomxay Province. Participants included representatives from the Department of Economic and Fiscal Policy (DEFP), Ministry of Finance, consultants, representatives from UNICEF, and relevant provincial line departments from both Oudomxay and Phongsaly provinces.
The opening ceremony of the training was chaired by PhD. Sengphayvanh Saengaphone, Deputy Director General of the Department of Economic and Fiscal Policy, together with Mr. Somlith Latsaketh, Deputy Head of the Oudomxay Provincial Department of Finance. The chairpersons emphasised that capacity development, particularly in statistics, data analysis, and advocacy plans for relevant provincial-level sectors, is a top priority of the NIPN project.

This training aimed to strengthen capacity in statistics, nutrition data analysis, and evidence-based policy support planning under Phase II of the National Information Platform for Nutrition, targeting relevant provincial sectors in Phongsaly and Oudomxay provinces.
After the completion of the three-day training, the chairpersons further highlighted that the training was highly meaningful and successfully achieved its objectives. In particular, participants actively exchanged ideas and opinions throughout the sessions, demonstrating strong commitment and a high level of responsibility. These efforts were considered highly valuable for enhancing individual capacities. Importantly, participants were encouraged to continue practising, strengthening their skills, and engaging in continuous learning after the training in order to effectively apply the knowledge and spirit of the training in their actual work.
