Vientiane, October 17, 2025 – The Data Analysis Unit (DAU) held its official third quarterly meeting of 2025 at the Ministry of Finance meeting room. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Sitthirot Rasaphone, Director-General of the Department of Economic and Fiscal Policy at the Ministry of Finance, who also serves as the head of the Data Analysis Unit for the National Information Platform for Nutrition (NIPN) project.
The meeting was attended by members of the Data Analysis Unit (DAU), the Policy Analysis Unit (PAU), along with representatives from UNICEF.
The main objectives of the meeting were to summarize and report on the progress of the NIPN project implementation by both units during the third quarter of 2025, including challenges, lessons learned, and to discuss priority activity plans to be implemented in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Key agenda items of the meeting included several topics, such as:
- Reporting on the progress of work implementation by the DAU and PAU units during the third quarter.
- Presentation of priority tasks for the fourth quarter to prepare for the final quarter of the year, along with defining key focus areas.
- Discussion on revising the NIPN project agreement documents at both the central and provincial levels to serve as a reference for project implementation.
- Reporting on preparations for the overall project steering committee meeting and guidelines for training at the central and local levels.
- Reporting on the progress of the NIPN project sustainability plan, which is scheduled for approval at the project steering committee meeting to serve as a reference for project implementation after 2025.
- Presentation of research topics for 2025 by the DAU and PAU units, which included further explanations on objectives, data used, methodology, and expected outcomes.
- Progress on the drafting process of the NPAN (National Plan of Action for Nutrition).
The meeting proceeded with constructive exchanges of ideas and discussions on various issues to ensure the continuous progress of the NIPN project and to achieve the objectives set for the end of 2025. The participants committed to advancing the sustainability of the project into the next phase.
