A two-day joint technical meeting of the NIPN-NIS projects was held from July 16 &17, 2024, at Pakse Hotel in Pakse City, Champasak Province. The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Sitthiroth Rasphone, Director General of the Development Research Institute, Ministry of Planning and Investment, and Mr. Khamking Keosouphan, Deputy Director General of the Department of Planning and Investment of Salavan Province.
Representatives from four sectors of the Salavan province working on nutrition-related activities, participated in the workshop: (Department of Planning and Investment, the Department of Health, the Department of Education and Sports, and the Department of Agriculture and Forestry.
The meeting/workshop entailed presentations on the background, overview and implementation of the NIPN and NIS projects and working group activities. The discussion section was dedicated to developing a joint activities implementation plan in Salavan province. In the workshop, participants learned a process to control the quality of DHIS 2 data, and to extract the maternal and child (MCH) data from the DHIS2 database. They also learned to analyze the data at district and provincial level. The aim of these activities is to provide information for effective policy decision-making. The two-day technical meeting concluded successfully.
