A joint technical meeting for the NIPN-NIS project in Savannakhet Province was held from December 5 to 6, 2024, at the Department of Planning and Investment in Savannakhet. The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Sitthiroth Rasaphone, Director General of the Development Research Institute at the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and Mr. Keopaserth Soulinpoumy, Deputy Director General of the Department of Planning and Investment of Savannakhet Province.

Representatives from four key sectors in Savannakhet participated: the Department of Planning and Investment, the Department of Health, the Department of Education and Sports, and the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, each contributing to nutrition-related issues.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The meeting included several presentations, starting with an overview of the NIPN and NIS project implementations. The health sector discussed methods for ensuring data quality control from the DHIS2 database, focusing on extracting indicator data for analysis at both district and provincial levels. The Agriculture and Education sectors shared and analyzed nutrition-related data from their respective administrative reports and datasets.

The primary goal of this technical meeting was to provide valuable insights to support effective policy decision-making. The two-day event concluded successfully.
