The National Information Platform for Nutrition (NIPN) project recently conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop on Data and Policy Analysis from September 18-20, 2024, at the APS Hotel in Vangvieng district, Vientiane Province. The three-day event, chaired by Mr. Latsavong Bounsiphome, Deputy Director General of the Socio-Economic Policy Research Institute (SPRI), Lao Academy of Social and Economic Sciences (LASES), aimed to prepare the trainers for upcoming capacity building sessions for NIPN team at the subnational level.
The comprehensive workshop covered crucial topics including program goals and objectives, stakeholder roles, monitoring and evaluation, data management and analysis, as well as evidence-based action plans and communication-advocacy matrix development. Representative from the Data Analysis Unit (DAU) and Policy Analysis Unit (PAU), participated as trainers. This ToT workshop marks an important step in NIPN’s efforts to strengthen capacity for improved nutrition policy and program implementation at the sub-national level.
The workshop successfully achieved its aim and objectives, the participants gained better skills and knowledge to conduct effective training at the subnational level. This accomplishment represents a significant milestone in NIPN’s mission to enhance nutrition-related capacity building throughout Lao PDR, paving the way for more informed and effective nutrition policies and programs in the future.
