The first intensive training for quarter I of the Data Analysis Unit (DAU) took place from 12th to 15th March 2024 at the Thavisouk Hotel in Vangvieng District, Vientiane Province. The training commenced with remarks from Mr. Viengkhone Bouaphachanh, the head of the division, Development Research Institute, Ministry of Planning and Investment.
The main objective of this training session was to boost the data analysis skills of the trainees. The focus of the teaching was on inferential statistics (correlation, chi2 simple and multiple regression and logistic regression).
Dr. Sitthiroth came on a short visit to specifically highlight the importance of intensive training, continued attendance of the same participants from each ministry, and emphasize TOT for future training at central and provincial level.
Participants were from several ministries in this training session (Nutrition Center, Ministry of Education and Sports, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Social Economic Policy Research Institute, and the Lao Statistics Bureau).
