The National Information Platforms for Nutrition (NIPN) Project officially launched its Training of Trainers (TOT) on the topic: “Nutrition Data Analysis for Policy Making” from October 27-29, 2025. The training lasted for three full days and included participants from relevant departments across both project units.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Dr. Sengphaivanh Sengamphone, Deputy Director General of the Department of Economic and Fiscal Policy, who represented the NIPN Project Committee. Dr. Sengamphone emphasized that capacity building, particularly in statistics and data analysis, is a key priority for the NIPN Project.

The objective of the training was to enhance the participants’ knowledge, equipping them to become trainers who can implement and transfer the skills they’ve acquired to their respective sectors. This approach aligns with the project’s sustainability plan. The NIPN program focuses on continuous training each quarter, building from foundational statistical theory to more advanced applications. In 2024 and early 2025, with the focuses on:

  • More practical applications.
  • Integrating real data with theoretical knowledge.
  • Strengthening data analysis techniques and interpreting results.
  • Hands-on group exercises to develop small research papers.

At the end of the 3-day training, a certification ceremony was held to award all participants with a certificate, officially recognizing their competence as trainers (TOT) in nutrition data analysis. This certification marks an important milestone for future knowledge transfer efforts.
