“Training workshop on the use of data for monitoring and planning in nutrition programs.”
Event, eventlist, News Update | May 6, 2026

This Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop on the topic of “Data Analysis and Planning”  from 27–30 April 2026, under the chairmanship of Dr. Sitthirot Ratchaphon, Director General of the Department of Economic and Financial Policy.

    As you are all aware, capacity building is one of the key priorities of the NIPN project, particularly in strengthening statistical capacity and data analysis. In recent years, we have continuously organized training sessions at both central and local levels, with a strong emphasis on the use of real data combined with theoretical learning, data analysis methods, interpretation of results, and related topics. These efforts represent a continuation of the foundational statistical training that participants have previously received.

In 2025, our training approach increasingly focused on strengthening capacity at the local level by emphasizing hands-on practice and developing local participants into trainers who can return to train others in their respective areas.

Based on monitoring and evaluation from previous training sessions, it has been observed that provincial trainers have been able to effectively transfer the knowledge gained at the central level to their local contexts. This is reflected in the improved understanding among many participants in both nutrition and basic data analysis.

Therefore, to ensure that capacity-building efforts align with the project’s sustainability plan—and to further enable participants to expand and apply their knowledge within their respective sectors—our team has decided to continue organizing this TOT training. The aim is to empower provincial trainer teams to further disseminate the knowledge in the future.

The key topics to be covered in this training include:

  1. Fundamentals of monitoring and evaluation, and nutrition data analysis;
  2. Use of evidence for planning and monitoring, and report writing techniques;
  3. Nutrition indicators;
  4. On the final day, participants will learn about managing an online dashboard and how to update data into the provincial database.
